CAL Chiefs Fire Ops Technology Summit
Heartland Technical and Dispatch staff with be attending the annual Fire Operations Technical Summit at ESRI in Redland California. This event is a partnership with Cal Chiefs. This is a great event to engage with fellow chiefs, IT staff, and industry technology leaders to share insights and best practices. Discover the latest technological advancements that can transform fire operations and enhance safety measures. Its also a great opportunity to build partnerships with technology providers committed to supporting the fire and EMS sectors.

Other activities during this week include a Wreathe Decorating Contest, off site field trip, Secret Santa Exchange, Do Good Initiative and the Annual Office Holiday Party.

HCFA Dispatch Academy starts for a three week training program before new hires start on the dispatch floor.
Alpine Fire Open House
To coincide with Fire Prevention Week, Alpine Fire will be hosting its annual Open House at the Alpine Fire Station from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM.
California APCO Conference
HCFA dispatch and supervisor staff are attending the Annual California APCO Conference in Orange County. This conference consist of 52 Professional Development training sessions, P.O.S.T. training, Keynote Speakers, and 75 Exhibitors for the 3 day conference.

ESRI International User Conference
HCFA’s Senior GIS Analyst will be attending the ESRI International Users Conference at the San Diego Convention Center. This conference brings 18000+ people from over 200 countries to network and learn about the latest technologies in ESRI’s GIS technology.

CFED West Conference
HCFA staff attending the CFED conference in Indian Wells, CA. CFED Conference & Expo is a 3 day conference and training for Law Enforcement, Fire, Nursing, Disaster, Public Health, and Emergency Medical communities.

911 Goes to Sacramento
HCFA Fire Communications Supervisors attending 911 Goes to Sacramento. A two day training event and this event teaches staff a way to build bridges with local legislators, express needs and concerns, and to learn more about the legislative process with regards to being a part of a 911 center.
POST PERT’s De-Escalation for Class
Dispatchers attending a POST PERT’s De-Escalation for Dispatchers class to further training and education in high acuity 911 calls and de-escalation phone skills and tactics. This is a local class offered in San Diego, CA.
APCO Awards Banquet
APCO Awards Banquet where HCFA is being recognized for two awards. Southern California APCO hosts an annual awards banquet each April and this is a great opportunity in which 9-1-1 professionals are highlighted for their accomplishments.
Special Recognition Category – Heartland Fire Communications ECC Staff Members are being recognized for their efforts on January 22, 2024 when Central Zone was impacted by a historical rain surge event.
GIS Analyst of the Year- Heartland Senior GIS Analyst is being recognized as the GIS Analyst of the year.
HCFA Outreach Group Visiting SD Animal Services
HCFA Dispatchers as part of their public outreach program will be visiting the County of San Diego Department of Animal Services in Bonita. The dispatch staff will be donating items to the center and the rescued animals.
NPSTW
National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. HCFA theme week is Homecoming and our center will have a full week of spirit fun including games, raffles, dress up days, potlucks, and agency recognition. Join us by getting in the spirit to celebrate all telecommunicators.
Mass Casualty Drill @ Grossmont High School
