Dispatch Shannon Hays Gets Visit from CPR Save

On the morning of February 14, 2024, at 6:37 AM, Scott returned home from a workout at the gym and began feeling unwell. His wife, Cati, promptly dialed 911 as Scott was experiencing chest pain. Lakeside Fire Protection District's Engine 3 and Medic 3 responded swiftly. Shortly after, Cati called 911 again, reporting that Scott had stopped breathing.

Communications Supervisor Hays answered the call and immediately provided CPR instructions as per protocol until emergency units arrived moments later. Thanks to these life-saving instructions, Cati performed CPR flawlessly, ultimately saving her husband's life.

Scott and Cati were deeply grateful for the assistance and felt compelled to meet the person who had guided them during this critical moment. Scott has since recovered remarkably well, returning to the gym and resuming work shortly after the incident.
