Supervisor Hays Receives Local Hero Award
Each year, the La Mesa Chamber of Commerce hosts and event where they recognize and celebrate local heroes. This year marked the 15 year anniversary of this event, and for HCFA, it was the second consecutive year that we had the opportunity to participate and have one of our staff members recognized.
This year, Fire Communications Supervisor Hays is being recognized as a local hero and represented HCFA for this award! There are many reasons why FCS Hays was nominated for this award. Below are a few highlights:
As a Shift Supervisor, Shannon has taken on a tremendous amount of responsibility here in the ECC while never losing her ability to be an advocate for the ECC staff. Shannon has displayed a great ability to mentor and train staff members in the ECC and help prepare them for greater assignments in the ECC. The ability that Shannon has motivate FCD’s in the center to become CTO’s and volunteer to participate in an ODS academy is a great example of these traits.
As the chair of the Employee Recognition / Public Outreach Committee, Shannon has helped lead our team on projects such as Fire Prevention Month Open House, Job Fairs, donations for local animal shelters, and most recently helped lead a group that put together a great Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.
Setting the example – As a new Shift Supervisor, Shannon has worked hard at expanding her knowledge and understanding as a 9-1-1 professional. Shannon has spent time at other ECC’s in the local area, attended supervisory and leadership training, and participated in 9-1-1 events when the opportunity was available. Shannon’s commitment to the ECC and her own development is a great model for other ECC staff members to follow!
This was honor was a great opportunity to recognize Shannon for all of her hard work and dedication to HCFA. Congratulations, Shannon!
